Plexvia vs Chatbase

Chatbase sells AI agents by the message credit, and sells them well. Plexvia sells the team a front office: the same knowledge answering on your website, in your email and in your own staff chat, with the seats in the price.

What Chatbase is good at

When Chatbase is the better choice.

AI agents trained on your own content, live on your website in an afternoon, with a helpdesk, human takeover, voice and telephony on the higher tiers, sold on monthly message credits.

  • An AI agent on your website is the job, you want it live this afternoon, and $40 a month is the ceiling you had in mind.
  • You want the phone answered by AI now. Chatbase sells voice and telephony from Standard, and Plexvia Voice is coming soon rather than on sale.
  • You want to choose the model behind each answer and pay for what it uses, rather than a flat allowance.
  • You are one or two people, where a credit plan costs less than a team plan.
What Plexvia is good at

When Plexvia is the better choice.

Plexvia holds what your business knows, then answers from it on your website, in your email and inside your team's own chat, within the access rules you set.

  • You would rather one monthly price with the team’s seats in it than a credit balance that a longer answer or a voice minute draws down.
  • Customers reach you by email as well as by chat, and you want both from the free plan up rather than from $150 a month.
  • You want every AI email reply held as a draft with its source attached, for a person to send, edit or discard.
  • The knowledge behind the answers is also your files, your products and your people, and it should be one thing rather than a set of uploaded sources.

Questions

Moving between Chatbase and Plexvia.

Is Plexvia just a chatbot like Chatbase?
No, and Chatbase is no longer only a chatbot either. It now sells a helpdesk, human takeover, AI draft replies, voice and telephony from Standard at $150 a month. The difference is shape: Chatbase prices AI agents by the message credit, and Plexvia prices a team’s front office, where website chat, customer email and your own staff chat all answer from one knowledge base inside one set of access rules.
How do message credits compare with Plexvia’s plan?
They are not the same unit, so treat them as two different meters. Chatbase spends 1 to 6 credits on a reply depending on the model behind it, about 6 a minute on voice, and sells another 1,000 credits for $40 a month. Plexvia Business includes 750 AI service actions a month at $199 with 15 seats, and add-on packs are bought inside the product.
Why does Plexvia draft replies instead of sending them?
Because a wrong answer sent to a customer is expensive and a wrong draft costs nothing. Plexvia writes the reply, attaches the source it used, and leaves it in the thread for a person to send, edit or discard.
Chatbase is cheaper. Why would I pay more?
Hobby is $40 a month, or $32 if you prepay the year, with 700 message credits and two workspace members. If an AI agent on your website is the whole job, that is a fair choice. The comparison moves at Standard, where the helpdesk, voice and telephony start at $150 a month for three members, and again as credits run out. Plexvia Business is $199 a month with 15 seats, customer email and AI-drafted replies in the price.
